Josh a senior editor at Quantum Media, where he helps develop digital content strategies and public relations campaigns for Asian, European and American brands. He is also a professor at Pannasastra University of Cambodia, where he teaches communications and journalism students about digital media, technology, innovation and ethics. His courses include Media in the Digital Age, Digital Technologies and Media and Introduction to Journalism.
Previously, he was the digital manager at The Cambodia Daily, where he led the newspaper’s digital team, managing web updates, social media, brand engagement, subscriptions, advertisements, design and development. He also managed the creation of The Daily’s paywall and moved its editorial workflow to the cloud. He is a postgraduate student studying online journalism at the Birmingham School of Media and is the author of "All the News that Fits in Your Pocket," an eBook about technology's disruption of the news industry and the emergence of mobile journalism. Before moving to Cambodia, Josh worked as an editor and reporter at Patch.com in Newark, N.J.; as an editor and writer at New Jersey Local News Service, part of The Star-Ledger Special Sections; as a copy editor at The New Jersey Herald; and as an intern at The Erie Times-News and The Citizen in Pittsburgh.
He has presented his work and ideas at the Digital Journalism World summit, the Interactive Digital News Design conference, Princeton University and Caldwell College.
Joy Robins is senior vice president of global revenue and strategy at Quartz. She started her career on the ad agency side, buying national radio and television advertising at OMD. After entering the sales side of the business via The Weather Channel, Joy had the opportunity to help the BBC introduce their TV and digital properties to the US advertising market where she discovered her passion for high-quality content. There, she led a national ad sales team that grew the BBC’s digital business into a multimillion dollar division. Most recently, she was on the leadership team at NBC Universal, tasked with monetizing NBC’s digital news properties following the conclusion of the Microsoft joint venture. Joy graduated from Rutgers University and is most obsessed with creating compelling and effective opportunities for advertisers seeking to leverage premium content and a high-quality audience.
